Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival 2009 | |||||||||||||
![]() |
A major event to look forward in Virginia Beach this October is the October Brewfest 2009 or the 2009 Craft Beer Festival. This year the Octoberfest that started as a wedding celebration in Munich relocates itself to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront at the Beachstreet Seaside Palladium at 24th Street. Be a part of this 2 day celebration full of fun & frolic through 17 Oct '09 to 18 Oct '09. Expect the unexpected at this one of its kind event, when the 24th Street Park is literally transformed into one big German beer garden. Sample authentic German beer or savor your senses with pizzas served alongside bratwurst, knockwurst, sausage & pepper. Alternatively, you may find a place in the seaside park offering colors of Germany & Bavaria & enjoy unlimited eating & drinking at this park festooned with colorful flags & balloons. While the October Brewfest offers a great recline for German food lovers, not to be missed are the numerous entertainment options like, the German oompa band or the relay games. One of the most popular attractions of the event is the Dachshund beauty pageant, where dozens of Dachshunds compete in crazy costumes on the first day of the event. The selected 10 are back on Sunday competing for the top three trophies. The music & fun that begins late Saturday afternoon transforms Octoberfest into "Rocktoberfest" & you are lost in the glamour of this rocking & fun lasting evening. A dunk tank is set up for "Dunk a Hunk" and "Drench a Wench", with proceeds going to a local charity. |
