Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base is the chief operating base for the Amphibious Forces in the United States Navy's Atlantic Fleet, comprising four locations in three states. The one located in Virginia Beach is home to Amphibious Group 2, Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Atlantic, Aegis Combat Systems Center and Naval Special Warfare Group 2.
With total area of 2,120 acres, Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base Virginia Beach holds the mission to provide required support services to over 15,000 personnel of the 27 homeported ships and 78 resident and supported activities. Besides, its combination of operational, support, and training facilities are geared mainly to amphibious operations that make this base the best.
