The championship is organized late in August which stretches over a period of four days at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.
The East Coast Surfing Championship offers a great platform not only to professional surfers but also to amateur surfers. Over 600 professional amateur surfers around the world compete for cash prizes, amateur ranking or for love of surfing.
The East Coast Surfing Championship is more than just a surfing competition. Dozens of people take part in other competitions including skimboarding, wind surfing, volleyball, an oceanfront 8k run, a swimsuit competition and the extreme sport of skateboarding.
Live bands keep on performing throughout the weekend for free on an oceanfront stage. The cost is involved only for participation in competition but all other activities are free and open to public.
